UK Research ~ Where There’s a Will $15.00 12FRC012 Saturday 11th August, 10.00am-1.30pm Computer Workshop Presenter Vivienne Parker If your ancestor left a ‘Last Will and Testament’ it can be a very important document in helping us to prove family connections. This workshop discusses the format of Wills and how to find a Will for your ancestors in England, Wales Scotland and Ireland. Death Duty Records, another useful resource will also be covered. Bring your lunch and your research names and after the workshop you can search for your own records. Vivienne will stay on in the Library to assist you.
Irish Land and Property Records $15.00 12FRC013 Saturday 18th August 10.00am-1.30pm Classroom Workshop Presenter Geraldene O’Reilly Learn how to use major land and property records which can provide a wealth of family names and placenames. Discover how these records have come to be referred to as ‘Census Substitutes’ and how they can b used in conjunction with various maps and gazetteers to trace your ancestors. You are welcome to bring your lunch and stay on in the library researching a wide range of Irish resources.
Australian Records $15.00 12FRC014 Saturday 25th August, 10.00am-1.30pm Computer Workshop Presenter Bruce Tudor In this second Australian Workshop we will attempt to add some of the history about your ancestors. We will look at records such as convict records, Census and Muster records if you had a convict. We will also delve into the many State Record Offices and State Libraries and search for Military Records, Electoral Records and much more. We will also use some of the vast collection available on CD ROM. Bring your lunch. After the workshop Bruce will be available for one-to-one help in the Library.
