The FamilySearch website has an extensive online Family History Library catalogue including microfilms, microfiche and publications.

The FamilySearch website provides extensive catalogue online help. In addition, NZSG volunteers are available at the three registered NZSG Affiliated Library sites to assist you in using the FamilySearch website.
Ordering
Once you have found the item/s you want, you can now place your own order with FamilySearch (Order Direct) or NZSG will place your order for you.
Option 1: Order Direct - Place your own order via the FamilySearch website
Place your own order online, directly with FamilySearch, and pay by credit card. The FamilySearch website gives you the option to select the country you are ordering from. When you select New Zealand, the prices are stated in NZD. Option 1 prices are:

Before placing your first order online, you must register with the FamilySearch website and get your own free login and password. Points to note when setting up a new FamilySearch account:
- Select which Family History Centre you wish to view the film or fiche at. (This can be one of the three NZSG Affiliated Libraries or any of the other Family History Centres available.)
- You must provide your personal address. (This is NOT used as a delivery address. The items will be delivered to the Affiliate Library or Family History Centre of your choice.)
- You must use your own credit card to pay.
Option 2: Orders placed on your behalf by NZSG
If you prefer, NZSG will place your order for you. However, there will be a slightly higher cost to you in using this service. This is to cover both the NZSG processing charge and the GST component. Option 2 prices are

Films can be ordered in person at any of the three venues listed above. Otherwise download the F49 FamilySearch Film Order form (.pdf - 21kb), complete the film and credit card information, and then post or fax the completed form to the address on the form.
Viewing FamilySearch Microfilms or Microfiche
You will be contacted when your microfilm or fiche arrives at your chosen site. You then need to book a time slot to use one of the film readers. Please note the loan period definitions.
- Short-term loans apply to microfilms only, and the films must be returned within 90 days. Note: the loan period begins when the film is shipped from FamilySearch to the Affiliate Library or Family History Centre. A 60-day renewal option is available after your short-term loan expires.
- Extended loans apply to both microfilm and microfiche. There is no set return date.
NOTE: NZSG cannot guarantee the arrival time of films ordered, as delays can occur if the items are already out on loan to another centre, or have to come from Salt Lake City.
