Our meetings are held at the N.Z. Society Genealogists Family Research Centre Library, 159 Queens Road, Panmure, Auckland. A new committee was elected in August 2010 and proposals were made for a revamp of the Irish Interest Group. We hold four meetings a year on a Sunday from 1pm-4pm in the months of February, May, August and November with our AGM being conducted during the month of May to align with NZSG policy. We
propose to have a Guest Speaker at our meetings, and there will be
occasion after meeting opens for the latest news in relation to Irish
genealogy research to be made available. At the conclusion of each
meeting afternoon tea is provided and the library opened to utilise the
research facilities which include books, CD’s, fiche and online access
to various websites including Irish Origins. Assistance and
guidance to any holdings in relation to Ireland is provided. Any
queries from our overseas members we are happy to assist with. In
February 2011 the Irish Interest Group library holdings were integrated
into the NZSG collection. The combined collection is one of the best
material collections of Irish resources in New Zealand. Check out the
NZSG Library catalogue for details. We intend to introduce a borrowing service for our Magazines and Journals and make available a list of articles featured. Check out our News Page for various notices. And view the IIG Anniversary picture page. Our generic e-mail address is IrishSIG
