The Isle of Man, a small independent kingdom containing only 17 parishes, is situated in the Irish Sea. It is part of the British Isles, although not part of the United Kingdom, and it has always done its own record keeping. In general, these records are housed in either the Manx Museum or the General Registry in Douglas.
Information on Manx Research is published in the Midlands and Northern England Interest Group newsletter four times a year.
