This group covers the 18 counties of Cheshire, Cumberland, Derbyshire, Durham, Herefordshire, Lancashire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northumberland, Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Rutland, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Westmorland, Worcestershire, and Yorkshire.
If you draw a line on a map of England from the River Severn in the west, across the country to the southern corner of the Wash in the east, all counties north of the line up to the Scottish borders are within our area.
Meetings
As our members reside throughout New Zealand we don't hold regular meetings but we hold at least one research day each year and our Annual General Meeting is combined with another research day. Both of these are held at the NZSG Family Research Centre, Panmure, Auckland. Where possible we participate in NZSG conferences and branch research/open days when invited.
Newsletter
Our newsletter is published four times a year and contributions for the newsletter - articles, snippets of information and queries from members are always welcome. A Member's Interest form is sent to all new members to enable them to submit their research interests and have them published in the newsletter.
Resources
We subscribe to 30 Family History Societies within our counties of interest and their journals are all available on our Round Robin circuit for $5.00 per year per journal. Forms with details of the journals are sent to all new members.
Our library, including books and fiche, is housed in the Family Research Centre at Panmure and available for research by anyone visiting the FRC. Group members may also borrow these resources by post.
Membership
Membership of the group is open to anyone who is a current member of NZSG. Annual membership is NZ$12.00 per year.
