-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CD Rom Sales The NZSG New Plymouth Branch has compiled a significant amount of historical information to assist with genealogy and family history research. Three CD Roms have been produced and are available to purchase from the branch:
CDROM #1: Shipping Index 1852-1890 - Contains indexes of passenger arrivals and departures from the local ports of Taranaki. The information has been taken from the 'Shipping Intelligence column' of the Taranaki Herald newspaper and includes both coastal and overseas shipping for the years concerned.
CDROM #2: Birth, Death and Marriage Notices 1852-1890 - Contains indexes of Birth, Death and Marriage notices printed in the Taranaki Herald newspaper. A complete transcription of each notice is included, together with an index of all the names contained in the notices.
CDROM #3: Early New Plymouth Land Records - This CD Rom contains three separate indexes:
- Early New Plymouth Township Land Records - up to approximately 1900. Contains the names of the original and subsequent owners, together with the purchase and sale dates of the sections. The Land Information New Zealand reference number for each transaction is also included.
- Early Crown Grants that have Wills attached to them. Contains details of the land owned and the occupation of the owner together with the Land Information New Zealand reference number.
- Police Census for 1846 and 1852 - Summary of all occupants of the early township including the number and ages of family members.
