This is the 2004 NZSG Conference Proceedings from the conference held in Hastings that year. Here is what is in it:-
There is a good coverage of rural matters as befits the title but there are also a lot of good papers on a wide variety of topics with many illustrations.  There is a fascinating paper on lace-making by present Councillor Lynne Blake, herself a lace-maker, with photos of various types of lace and a very helpful paper on research in India.  The New Zealand Genealogist's Family Historian: Volume 1

This was produced by NZSG in 2004 to provide a vehicle for the publishing of members' family histories which otherwise might not be published. The magazine could not accommodate them as they took up too much space and most authors were not able to publish privately. Our immediate past NZSG magazine editor Richard Stedman was the editor and producer of this book for the society and as always his work is lovely to look at and easy to read.
