Waitara History Project Group
The Waitara History Project Group originally came into being as a financial arm of the Waitara Genealogy Branch, some years ago, successfully accessing funding to cover the cost of local projects. This included participating in partnership funding with the Cemetery Division of the New Plymouth District Council, and taking on volunteers from WINZ when needed.

The projects we have worked on over the years have added value to our Resource Library, being available for all researchers.

Our Resource Library is a shared asset contributed to by the Waitara History Project Group, the Waitara Genealogy Branch, and the Waitara Public Relations & Information Service Inc. and the public of Waitara - this is advertised on our Website which has been funded by the New Plymouth District Council Community Funding, and from a grant from the Taranaki Electricity Trust. A "public use" computer has now been made available at our Rooms, 33 Queen Street, Waitara, with help from these funders, and our Website can be accessed by members, visitors, etc.and this also offers an email service if required.
