European Interest Group

The European Interest Group comprises genealogists who are researching their family history in Continental European countries.

The group does not hold its own research material.  Instead it actively supports the acquisition of material for the NZSG Library.  Whenever possible it endeavours to give advice to members in their Continental research.

The group has an ongoing project is to locate and index New Zealand historical material containing references to Continental Europeans.  The results are included in the latest version of the Kiwi Collection.  Two examples are indexes of all persons naturalised in New Zealand from 1852 to 1949, and the '1917 Register of Aliens'.
