  • Enjoy a 75% discount on the entry fee to the Family Research Centre (FRC) - this houses the NZSG Library, where volunteers are on duty to assist you. Non-members $20, members $5.
  • Borrow from the library (NZ residents only) - up to four books and booklets at any one time, for up to three weeks.
  • Gen-Guides - A series of downloadable Gen-Guides are available to members to assist them understanding our Record Collections and Member Services.
  • Research Service - for those unable to visit the FRC in Panmure, Auckland.
  • The Members' Mailing List (Memlist) is a private forum for members to discuss NZSG activities, to put forward ideas and opinions and to make genealogical requests.
  • Access to the NZSG Member Only Record Collections:  Certificate Collection,  First Families Collection,  Pedigree Collection and the  Pre-1856 Marriage Records Collection.
  • Purchase the NZSG Kiwi Collections V2 USB - The Kiwi Collection is a member-only publication. It is a consolidation of indexes and/or transcriptions donated by individual members, branches and interest groups nationwide. It is also the publication of choice for NZSG national projects such as Schools and Funeral Records. The Collection began some 20 years back and continues to grow with each publication. Content includes some Cemetery Headstones Transcriptions, Burial Records, Probates, Funeral Records, Obituaries, Family Notices (BDM), Government Gazettes, Book Indexes, School Records, Parish Records, Local Body publications, professional and trade publications and many more. The Collection currently includes 9.7 million records.
  • The FRC has 17 computers connected to the Internet available for you to use to research your family. Some of the websites and databases available are: Ancestry, British Library Newspapers, Cornwall FHS Research Database, Deceased Online, Family Relatives, FamilySearch,  Findmypast,  New Zealand Illegitimacy Records, Quick Map - NZ Land Information,  Scotlands People,  The Genealogist. 
  • Access to the DNA Bootcamps produced by Hack Genealogy covering a variety of topics genetic genealogy expert Mary Eberle, JD of DNA Hunters.  The New Zealand Society of Genealogists Inc have purchased a license so that our members can enjoy the Boot Camps free of charge.   
  • A remote film reader is available for those who cannot visit the FRC. Any film we have in the library can be read on your computer at home.
